GENERAL Application Timeline & Checklist
Fall Semester BEFORE internship year:
When enrolling for Spring semester, talk with your faculty advisor and Dr. Vargas about internship applications and enrolling in Field Experience (PSGE 6651) for Fall of your second year.
Attend mandatory Internship Application Orientation - see more information in Upcoming Events
Revise CV/Resume and draft a template cover letter (late Fall semester)
Review application materials with Career Services (email vmartinez21@fordham.edu for more info)
Note: some sites may require a letter of recommendation. Give letter writers at least a month to provide the letter.
Spring Semester BEFORE internship year:
Mid-January: Submit site list on Google Classroom with 8-10 potential placements you are interested in
Rolling internship application period. Check individual site requirements for expected timeline.
Attend Interview Workshop - see more information in Upcoming Events
Set up a mock interview
Ongoing interviews
Consult with Dr. Vargas as needed
Check email and Google Classroom regularly for updates
NEW sites must be submitted for approval.
Register for PSGE 6651 in end of March
Fall of internship year: (typically end of August / early September)
Student begins Internship and Field Experience course (PSGE 6651) concurrently, typically in the end of August or early September. Exceptions should be approved by Ms. Casey or Dr. Vargas.
If you are a part-time MHC student, contact Liz Casey or Dr. Vargas to discuss what your internship process will look like, as it may differ from the process detailed above.
