Phi Alpha Honor Society Xi Gamma Chapter at Fordham is to provide a closer bond among MSW students, and to promote humanitarianism as a lifelong commitment. Phi Alpha fosters and supports high standards of education for social workers and invites into membership those who have attained excellence in scholarship and achievement in social work. The students follow the university's has 3 main ideas which are strive for excellence in everything you do, care for others, fight for justice
Members of Phi Alpha must have completed at least 1 semester of their MSW program, and must have at least a 3.5 GPA. Members must also complete at least ten hours of community service. If you are a Fordham Student that has met all the requirements then join us!
Fordham University honor societies are organizations for students of high academic achievement and are intended to bring together like-minded individuals with high scholastic standards and similar interests.
Fordham's honor societies invite students to become members based on scholastic rank and grade point averages, either overall, or for classes taken within the discipline for which the honor society provides recognition. In cases where academic achievement is not an exclusively appropriate criterion for membership, it is common for honor societies to add a criterion relating to the character of the student.
