I grew up in the Sound View section of the Bronx. My parents are first generation Cuban and Jamaican immigrants. I come from a family where caring for others is a way of life. This made Social Work feel very natural to me. I am currently a Youth Development Specialist at Catholic Guardian Services in their foster care division. I grew up amidst some challenges as a teen that reinforced my resolve to spend my career helping others. I graduated from Metropolitan College of New York in 2014 with a Bachelors in Human Services and Education. I have 17 years of experience in child welfare. I am an MSW candidate in Fordham’s graduating class of 2019.
I am a confessed baseball junkie (Yankees), a father of a fifteen year old and a two year old, I have a fiancé and I am someone who is blessed to be a part of the profession we call Social Work.
