Counseling Psychology PhD Program
Fordham University
Sivan Aulov is a second-year doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology program at Fordham University and a licensed professional counselor specializing in child and adolescent treatment. She received her B.A. in Psychology with an emphasis on child learning and development from University of Texas in Dallas, and her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern Methodist University. Born and partially raised in Austria, Sivan immigrated to the United States at the age of six and holds interest in working with underserved and marginalized populations assimilating into a new culture. Her community work spans across various sectors, including serving the needs of youth struggling with various mental health disorders in a nonprofit organization and working as a graduate research assistant at New York University’s ‘Families and Children Experiencing Success (FACES)’ Lab studying effective preventions and interventions for children with disruptive behavior disorders (ADHD, ODD, CD). For her own research, she is focused on studying hidden identities in stigmatized and marginalized populations. Her hope is to provide culturally-informed, technology-based approaches to delivering evidence-based interventions successful in improving outcomes for marginalized youth.
