Erin Shanahan is a second-year doctoral student in the School Psychology program. She graduated from Fordham with her bachelor's degree in Psychology and has worked in multiple child research settings around New York City, particularly at Montefiore in the Bronx, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Mt. Sinai, and the Child Mind Institute. Erin has also worked with children in school settings as well, most notably as a behavioral specialist at the Harry H. Gordon School, as a Kindergarten classroom teacher in the Warwick Valley Central School District, as an school psychology extern in the New York City DOE, and as a school psychology extern at JVL Wildcat Academy. Erin hopes that as a passionate New Yorker and an experienced child care provider, she can help expand clinically relevant and culturally sensitive mental health resources to underserved communities of color in NYC. As a member of the CCMH team, Erin aspires to gain more experience learning the skills necessary to achieve her goals working as a clinician with school aged children in underserved communities.
