Ben Medeiros

Ben Medeiros is a first-year doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology program. Having graduated Fordham College at Rose Hill with a bachelor’s in Psychology, he is striving to maintain and expand his connection to the Bronx and other New York communities. He has participated in many Youth Participatory Action Research and Community Engaged Research projects during his undergraduate years and is greatly focused on providing mental health resources and access to minority populations throughout the city. Ben is motivated by the connections he makes on the personal level to address larger systemic problems on a grander scale, changing not only access to but perception of mental health care. Since jointing CCMH, Ben hopes to not only use the skills he’s so far acquired to help others but also develop further his connection to and appreciation for the people and communities that he lives in and around.
