Ayomide Tikare
(She/Her/Hers)
Ayomide Tikare is a third-year doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology program at Fordham University. Passionate about supporting individuals from minority and immigrant communities, she is pursuing counseling psychology to promote the well-being of underserved populations through research, advocacy, and clinical work. Ayomide graduated from Barnard College in 2023 with a B.A. in Psychology and minors in Education Studies and Yoruba. During her undergraduate studies, she served as an assistant teacher in multiple Manhattan public schools, where she became increasingly attuned to the importance of nurturing students’ social-emotional development alongside their academic endeavors. This experience deepened her desire to support the mental health and well-being of young people.
As a child of Nigerian immigrants, Ayomide is especially conscious of the need for multicultural competence when working with children and families from ethnic minority, low-income, and immigrant backgrounds. She is eager to receive training that will equip her to provide culturally informed, social justice-oriented psychological services, while furthering her commitment to serving youth from underserved communities. Ayomide is grateful for the opportunity to support the diverse mental health needs of students and families as a CCMH trainee.
