Angela P. Vargas, PhD is a Licensed Psychologist in the states of New Jersey and New York. She earned her Master's in Counseling Psychology from Temple University and PhD in Counseling Psychology from Fordham University. Dr. Vargas is the Owner of Via Psychology, LLC, a private practice that specializes in immigration evaluations, and is also the Field-Based Experience Liaison and Supervisor for the master’s Mental Health Counseling program at Fordham University. She is currently the President-Elect for the Latino Mental Health Association of New Jersey (LMHANJ). Dr. Vargas is fluent in Spanish and has experience conducting all clinical services, therapy, assessment, and supervision, with Spanish-speaking clients. She has extensive education, training, and experience in the field of mental health across the lifespan, with communities of diverse backgrounds and resources, and in varied settings, including public hospitals and community mental health centers.  Her specialty areas include treatment of mood disorders and trauma via individual, group, and family therapies, as well as psychological assessment (cognitive, academic, forensic, and personality) and comprehensive evaluations. Dr. Vargas particularly enjoys working with adolescents and individuals navigating major life transitions and issues surrounding their intersectional identities of race/ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation.
