Alan Quinn
(He/Him/His)
Alan is a first-year Counseling Psychology PhD student at Fordham University. He earned his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where he completed multiple research fellowships focused on personality pathology, racial bias in memory, and mental health trends during the COVID-19 pandemic. A first-generation doctoral student and the son of Irish immigrants, his upbringing in an underserved Boston neighborhood continues to fuel his commitment to compassionate, culturally responsive mental health care.
His clinical experience includes providing crisis intervention for adolescents with mood and personality disorders and serving as a case manager for neurodivergent adults. Alan’s interests include mindfulness, personality and mood disorders, and the philosophical foundations of well-being. He is especially drawn to the humanistic tradition in psychology and is deeply interested in bridging Eastern and Western value systems in clinical practice.
Outside clinical and research work, he currently serves as a grant writer for a nonprofit supporting formerly incarcerated individuals as they reintegrate into society, further reflecting his dedication to advocating for underserved communities.
As a graduate assistant with the CCMH team, Alan looks forward to supporting Bronx youth and helping them believe in themselves while continuing to grow as a clinician, researcher, and advocate.
