Why I Chose This Topic

My name is Lauren Bowser and I chose this topic as, like everyone, water is a integral part of my life—through sports, leisure activities, and health. Therefore, I feel the need to advocate for those who do not have the luxury of being surrounded by water. As women make up the majority of those living in poverty, there is a significant interconnection between inaccessibility to water and gender inequality around the world. Thus, due to my passion for gender equality, I am devoted to ensuring that women are given equal rights and opportunities, especially when those opportunities are limited by water scarcity throughout the world.
