Learn All About Medical Racism
This is probably the most important part of my social justice website. Here you can learn all about how racism inversely affects healthcare for so many people, and how it came to be. I will also discuss intersectionalities and how Catholic teachings call us to work against social justice issues.
Why this project?
I chose this particular social justice topic for two reasons:
The COVID-19 pandemic and the re-emergence of the Black Lives Matter movement made so many Americans more aware of racism's affect on healthcare, myself included. I wanted to dive even deeper, since it is such a major issue and I felt that many people are still unaware of the effects.
Next year I will be attending nursing school with the end goal being a pediatric nurse practitioner. I am passionate about equal healthcare for all, and I hope to continue researching this issue in college to someday make a difference for my future patients.
