Action Plan
I've learned and come to understand that Haiti's current and underlying issues are too big to be solved with one action or person. It will take a whole community, but in order to gain a community you have to inform and explain. You have to make people notice the problems in order to get people to want to help. With my action plan I want to do just that. I want to tell the story of Haiti and its people, to show the rich history that no one talks about. For my action plan I made a painting that symbolizes the history of Haiti. I want everyone who sees it to actually feel emotion.
How you can take action
Below there are various ways you can take action, by helping foundations and other organizations. Help Haiti by supporting organizations like HAWG (Haiti Advocacy Working Group). HAWG was formed shortly after the earthquake and is a group of international development, human rights, and faith based organizations that want to positively influence U.S foreign policy to Haiti. They want the people of Haiti to be heard, they promote Haitian-led solutions, and hold the U.S government accountable while collaborating. By maintaining their relationships with Congress and government agencies, they want to inform them of Haiti's current reality.
