Language Forge Walk-Through - YouTube
What is Language Forge used for?
Language Forge is used for collaboratively gathering words in the community. Several team members can gather new words and information about words from the phones, laptops, or tablets. The words that are gathered in LF are then stored in the main FLEx Storehouse through the Sync function.
What are the different roles in LF? What can they do?
Roles can be assigned to LF users to give them access to add or change different parts of the words in LF.
Managers have the responsibility of Syncing and access to the project settings. They can add other users to the LF project and manage which fields other users can see and edit. They can change, add, and comment on any field.
Editors can comment on or edit any information they have access to.
Commentors can see information and leave comments on words. They cannot make changes to any words, but can suggest changes.
Viewers have access to see the words and information. They cannot change or comment on anything, though.
Why does the manager need to Sync the Language Forge project?
The Sync function in Language Forge updates the main FLEx Storehouse where all of the words are kept. Syncing frequently prevents problems with bringing those words into FLEx and updating Language Forge.
Do we need to sync in order for other LF users to see our changes?
All Language Forge users can see changes from other users in real time without syncing .
