At the beginning of the school year, classes listened to books such as, "If You Ever Want to Bring a Circus to the Library, DON'T!" as well as "Dewey - There's a Cat in the Library!" We took these books as an opportunity to discuss library expectations, specifically leaving the circus out of the library as well as using the library appropriately:

Procedures:
Connect the Dots!
We adhere to a practice that we call "Connecting the Dots." Students will follow a series of dots in order to complete and enjoy their library experience. Click the button to check out how your kids will be connecting the dots in the library!
Circulation:
Kindergarten - Students will check out one book each time they visit the library.
1st - Students will check out one book each time they visit the library.
2nd - Students will check out one book the first time, if they remember to bring it back to the library, they can check out two books the next time.
3rd - Students can check out two books at a time.
4th - Students can check out two to three books at a time.
5th - Students can check out two to three books at a time, some have been given permission to check out more at a time.
Books are due back every other week when students visit the library during their related arts time. Overdue notices will be physically sent home once every 9 weeks. Teachers may request an MIA list anytime they wish for their class.
