Process art allows for art to be viewed as a process or creative journey, rather than having a prescribed craft or outcome. Students are able to take the materials and explore and create themselves. Allowing each child's project to be unique creation.
Students were able to explore dying paper with milk. By picking the different collection of colors and watching what happens when you added soap to the mixture. They get to see the end result of the paper changing colors.
Students explored recycled materials, textures and patterns through this process art. By glueing down different recycled materials to a piece of card stock and placing tin foil that was spray painted black, they could rub off the black to create different textures and patterns in their art piece.
During Valentines, students were able to paint ice and see how it transferred onto water color paper. This allowed them to work on their fine motor skills, painting, sensory and color mixing. Each student was able to paint as much paint and pick the colors they wanted.
By melting crayons in the oven, students were able to create their very own Van Gogh painting. Each canvas turned out to be different depending on the childs perspective of "A Starry Night."
