Work Package 1: Stakeholders engagement and regional design (WP1A), Capacity Building (WP1B)
Using current expertise, past experience and best practices the work package will create a dynamic process for stakeholder engagement, looking at the relations of various stakeholders involved in strategic development and regional design schemes. Exploring governance arrangements and public needs, the work package will produce spatial visions for a resilient landscape with the aim to re-connect citizens with the landscape, create a landscape identity and engage public institutions at a regional and city level.
The spatial vision coming from the first tier will include principles that can be replicated for any area and suggestions on what elements should be considered (eg. topography, climate, social and historical characteristics). Utilization of ecosystems services going beyond the conventional approach would be explored in tier two, while the third tier will help reveal who the critical hidden beneficiaries are.
By mapping key national and European actors and demonstrate what this project can offers them, the level of engagement will be improved moving forward to a smooth transition of circular economies. This is considered to have an input in international agreements (SDGs, COP etc) and it challenges the business as usual and conventional routes in landscape strategies.
The involvement of stakeholders and a shared discussion and circulation of data and information will support the increase of awareness of single citizens, associations, companies and public authorities. This will lead, as a positive scenario, of a common collective mindsets towards the achievement of the main Climate objectives. The process will be supported with the creation of specific training activities to reach a wider audience and a greater impact. The training materials will include a modules about innovation, system thinking and entrepreneurship. The capacity building activities will be developed in close coordination with Climate-KIC Education Team and following Climate-KIC Education formats both for Professional Education and for Graduate school Education.
