This seminar is designed to equip participants with foundational knowledge of knowledge transfer, enabling researchers to create meaningful impact from their research. The program encourages participants to consider the value of their research, explore mega-trends and markets, and learn how to harness the potential of innovation within research. They will collaborate with experts to explore the concepts of value proposition and customer, as well as the legacies and opportunities related to IP strategies and protection. Additionally, the seminar will address strategies and funding opportunities—both public and private—for fostering innovation, including collaboration with companies or starting new ventures. It empowers researchers to pursue diverse opportunities, such as collaborating with companies, driving innovation in non-academic settings.

By the end of this seminar, participants will:
Understanding the differences when planning and developing a new entre/intra-preneurial project in different contexts
Understanding, creating, and capturing the value of the research project in the market
Integrating the strategic role of IP and other intangible assets into the research project and future professional scenarios
The teaching methods are primarily based on active learning. Therefore, alongside traditional content presentations, real-life experiences and case studies are introduced by researchers, entrepreneurs, and managers from local and/or international companies. The course combines lessons, discussions, individual and group work, practical activities, and games
Prerequisites: No prior experience or knowledge of knowledge transfer is required.

Bigatto holds a degree in Sociology, a Master’s in International Relations (University of Trento), and a PhD in European Comparative Studies (University of Siena). With over 15 years of experience, she specializes in fostering social change and innovation through institutional capacity building and ecosystem development.
