This seminar is designed to help researchers translate their ideas into tangible social, economic, and environmental benefits, while building a robust impact strategy. Participants will learn how to craft compelling value propositions and develop effective dissemination and exploitation strategies. The program also delves into advanced elements of project proposals, with a focus on impact monitoring, evaluation, sustainability, and refining key proposal sections to ensure long-term success.
Introduction to the concept of impact in project proposals
Identification of stakeholders and potential beneficiaries
How to frame research in terms of societal challenges and opportunities
How to create a strong value proposition
Best practices for designing dissemination and communication strategies
How to design strategy for exploitation
How to design an effective impact monitoring and evaluation framework
Strategies for ensuring the sustainability of research results beyond the project life cycle
Developing and refining the value proposition and dissemination strategy for different stakeholders
By the end of the seminar, participants will:
how to identify the wider relevance of their work by addressing key stakeholders and beneficiaries
how to clearly communicate the value of their research to different audiences and how to ensure the visibility and practical use of their results
how to design the impact, dissemination and exploitation strategies
The teaching methods are primarily based on active learning. Therefore, alongside traditional content presentations, real-life experiences and case studies are introduced by researchers, entrepreneurs, and managers from both local and international companies. The course combines lessons, discussions, individual and group work, practical activities, and games
Prerequisites: No prior experience or knowledge of knowledge transfer is required

About program coordinator
Milena Bigatto
After a degree in Sociology and a Master in International Relations from the University of Trento, she obtained a PhD in European Comparative Studies from the University of Siena. She has cultivated her interest in social change and innovation by gaining over 15 years of experience as a project manager in institutional capacity building and ecosystem development activities aimed at developing the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
