What to Expect on Test Day?
Students must follow the test site's code of conduct.
Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time, and check in at the front office with valid photo ID (student AND parent)
Approved forms of identification include passports, military IDs, Florida IDs from the DMV (with photo), or an FLVS K-12 District student ID
Students should be dressed appropriately for school, and bring a sweater or jacket
Students may bring a cell phone to the testing location, but cell phones will remain off and must be labeled with the student's name. They will be collected by the proctor and returned to the student once the session has ended.
Please be on time when returning to pick up your student. When planning your day, in addition to the time for the test itself, please factor in at least 20 more minutes for the materials to be passed out and collected, directions to be given, etc.
Other Frequently Asked Test Day Questions
How will we know the drop-off/pick-up procedures? Park in guest parking and enter through the front office with your photo ID and your student’s photo ID. Any additional drop-off procedures, provided by the school, were shared with you in the Important Notes section of the testing email you received prior to the test date. If there are additional questions about pick-up procedures, please ask the front office staff during drop-off.
Can another family member pick up our student? Yes, as long as this is pre-arranged with the school site during drop-off, so everyone is aware. Anyone picking up students should have a photo ID.
What time should we plan to pick up our student? Please ask when you drop off your student or leave a phone number with the front office staff to receive a call when the student has completed testing. Pick-up times may vary due to testing times, extended time, or other factors. If students have a phone, they may text when testing has completed.
Should we send lunch? If the school requires that the student bring a lunch it will be noted in the “Important Notes” section of the email sent with dates and times.
If there is an unexpected change in date/time for testing (for example internet outage), how will we know? If you arrive for drop-off and are informed of a date change, please ask for the new schedule. Then, please share these new dates with your homeroom teacher.
If there is an issue at the school site, is there a particular person that we should ask to speak with at the physical school? Yes, please ask for the Testing Coordinator or school administrator and be sure to identify yourself as an FLVS Full-Time Public-School student (not home education). If you are unable to speak with someone at the school, contact the FLVS school administrator for the designated grade level and/or test as indicated in the table below. Do not leave the school until you speak with the FLVS staff (administrator or assessment specialist) and they verbally let you know of the resolution. If you cannot test at the site, our FLVS staff will be the ones to let you know and will work on scheduling a make-up date.
