Yes. Florida Virtual School Full-Time falls under the same Florida Department of Education mandates as traditional public schools; therefore, testing is required for all students in Grades 3-10 and students enrolled in EOC courses. Click here for current legislation.  

Remote Testing is available for K-2 FAST Assessments. For grades 3-10, remote testing has only been approved by Florida's Department of Education during the progress monitoring 1 and progress monitoring 2 windows, and only for the following assessments:

• FAST Math Grades 3-8

• FAST Reading Grades 3-10 

For grades 3-10, all statewide standardized tests must be taken in person at the student's local test site for Spring Statewide Testing. 

For all in-person testing at your local test site - FLVS will contact the primary guardian and student by email with the testing dates and times as soon as the information comes in from the test site. It is critical that the guardian responds to the confirmation survey in the email to confirm attendance for assigned test dates. Please be sure to monitor email addresses associated with the parent and student in FOCUS.  If you are not receiving emails ensure they are correct in FOCUS and not going to your spam/junk folder. 

For remote testing taken at home - FLVS will email you several days before testing with all required testing information. 

No. For in-person Spring Statewide Testing, the local test site will choose the dates that they want FLVS students to come.  State testing requires a significant amount of coordination and planning; therefore, schools have to choose which dates and times work best based on the resources they have.  FLVS will schedule all remote testing. 

You can view your in person testing location in FOCUS in the State Testing Info tab. FLVS will also include the name of the site in all Spring Statewide Testing communications. If the test site address is not provided please google map the school for the most accurate address. You can also call the site ahead of time to confirm the address and parking/drop off procedures.  

Test sites are assigned by your local school district and are not subject to change. If you have moved prior to the start of a testing window a new test site will be assigned as soon as proof of residence documentation is submitted to FLVS. Please contact FLVS as soon as a change of address occurs.  

In extenuating circumstances, some schools may offer make-up dates for FLVS students. However, make-up dates are not guaranteed and every effort should be made to test on the original dates provided. If make-up dates are needed please contact FLVS immediately and provide what dates you are available to test and the reason you cannot make the original dates. 

Approved forms of identification include passports, military IDs, Florida IDs from the DMV (with photo), or an FLVS K-12 District student ID. If you need an FLVS K-12 District student ID,  please complete this ID request form. Once your ID is ready, an email will be sent to the parent email address associated with your FOCUS portal. 

During PM 1 or PM 2 please reach out to your primary or homeroom teacher. 

During Spring Statewide Testing, please reach out to your homeroom teacher to check on the status of your testing dates. In most cases, the local school/district has not yet provided the schedule. Please note that in these cases we are working diligently to secure the dates and times from the test site. 

Students are welcome to bring bottled water in clear containers and snacks. Each school site will have specific rules regarding where food and drink will be kept during testing but it is always a good idea to bring these things in a purse or small backpack in the case of extended testing or delayed starts. For more specific information about what is allowed please contact the test site.  

You will receive information related to all of the test day details the test site provides to FLVS. For any additional information specific to your test site please reach out to the local school.  

Participation in state testing is a requirement to remain enrolled with the FLVS Fulltime Schools. Refusal to participate could prevent the student from remaining enrolled with the FLVS Full Time Schools in the upcoming school year. 

• Students must follow the test site's code of conduct. 

• Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to  your scheduled time, and check in at the front office with photo ID

• Students should be dressed appropriately for school, and bring a sweater or jacket

• All test materials are secure documents, and will be provided by the test site

• Students may bring a cell phone to testing.  Cell phones will remain off and must  be labeled with the student's name. They will be collected by the proctor, and returned to the student once the session has ended. 

• Please be on time in returning to pick up your student. When planning your day, in addition to the time for the test itself, please factor in at least 20 more minutes for the materials to be passed out and collected, directions to be given, etc.
