How many courses do I need to take as a FLVS Full Time High School Student?
All FVHS students are required to take six courses each semester.

School Counselors will select core courses (English, Math, and Social Studies) and place students based on academic history and the FVHS course progression.

Yes, students must meet prerequisite requirements and complete the Advanced Placement Application

5. Can I take Dual Enrollment coursework as a 9th grade student?

6. Am I able to graduate early?
Many factors play a role in early graduation. The option to graduate early advances college and scholarship deadlines. Please reach out to your assigned School Counselor as soon as possible to determine if you are eligible for early graduation.
7. I am behind in credits, what can I do to graduate on time?
As a public virtual school, FVHS has two diploma options: 24 credit and 18 credits. These options have all of the same core coursework, Performing/Practical Arts, testing, and GPA requirements. Please reach out to your counselor to determine a plan to help you graduate on time.
8. I am a senior. Do I have to take six courses?
Yes, all Florida Virtual High School students must take six courses each semester.
9. Do I need Foreign Language to graduate high school?
No, Foreign Language is not required to earn your diploma; however, it is required for university admissions and the Bright Futures Scholarship.
10. Do I need community service hours to earn my diploma?

11. I failed a course during the school year. What are my options?
Students are encouraged to complete course recovery in the summer through FLVS Flex. You can request a summer course in Flex here: https://forms.gle/qQYX9k5jU1WXPWik7
12. Can I take coursework during the summer even if I am not behind in credits?
FVHS Students can take one credit or two segments of coursework at a time during the summer through FLVS Flex. Summer is around ten weeks in duration. Please keep this time frame in mind because all summer FLVS Flex coursework needs to be finished before the start of the school year.

Students should not request summer coursework that is on their schedule for the current or next school year.
REMINDER: All summer coursework must be finished BEFORE the start of the school year.
Students should ensure that the grade for the course is included in their academic records (when the course is completed) and that there is no duplication in their FVHS schedule.
