Principal - Kevin Strickland

Mr. Strickland is a 1990 graduate of Rockmart High School.   He previously taught English at Rome High School for 21 years.  During his tenure at Rome, he coached basketball for 19 years and for six years he served as the athletic director.  Most recently, Mr. Strickland was an assistant principal at Armuchee High School.

Mr. Strickland obtained his B.S. and M. Ed. degrees in English from Jacksonville State University and his Ed. S. in Educational Administration from Lincoln Memorial University.

Mr. Strickland has been married to his wife, Erin, for 22 years.  She is a teacher with Rome City Schools, and they have a 17 year old son, Ryan, who attends Armuchee High School.

Assistant Principal - Angela Brock

Angela Brock is a 1988 graduate of Model High School and continued her education at Shorter College.  She graduated in 1992 with a B.S. in Biology and a Chemistry minor.  After a brief stint as a chemist at DYETECH, Inc. in Dalton, Georgia, she returned to Shorter to obtain her teaching certificate and began her tenure at MHS in 1996.  Since then, Mrs. Brock received her M.Ed. in Secondary Education from Berry College in 2000 and her Ed.S. in Educational Administration and Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University in 2002.  

During her 27 years at Model, Mrs. Brock has had the pleasure of teaching almost every science course available.  She has also served as a cheerleading coach, tennis coach, Relay for Life captain, prom coordinator, Model Revue resurrector, and Miss Model director.

Mrs. Brock is in her eighth year as the Instructional Assistant Principal at MHS.  She is married to Todd Brock, owner of The Haymes Group in Dalton, Georgia.  They have two children: Ty, MHS class of 2019, and Jacob, MHS class of 2022. 

Assistant Principal - Mike House

Mike House is a 1989 graduate of Model High School. After graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from Shorter College in 1996, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University in 2004, and an Education Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University in 2009.

He began his teaching career at Coosa High School in 1997, teaching Advanced Placement European History and Advanced Placement World History. He also coached football, baseball, wrestling, and served as Athletic Director for 5 years. He began his administrative career at Pepperell Middle School in 2009, serving as Assistant Principal.

Mike has been married to his wife, Ann Marie, who is a teacher at Pepperell Middle School and a Model High School graduate, for 25 years. They have three children, Jackson (22), Jefferson (20), and Ella Kate (15).
