The Floyd County College & Career Academy’s FAME (Film, Arts, Media & Entertainment) Pathway is an award-winning, project-based program founded in 2020 that immerses students in the full spectrum of film production. From scriptwriting and cinematography to lighting, sound, and editing, students gain hands-on experience creating high-quality content for film festivals, competitions, and social media platforms. FAME emphasizes not only technical skills but also 21st-century competencies such as confidence, connection, creativity, and community. Students learn to tell stories that resonate both on screen and online, building real-world experience in digital media and audience engagement. Guided by instructor Rick Williams, who brings over 20 years of professional experience across multiple industries, the pathway prepares students to thrive in modern media careers and beyond.
