About Us

The FAME Pathway

The Floyd County College & Career Academy's FAME Pathway is an award-winning film production class that was established in 2020. The program offers students a comprehensive education in all aspects of film production, including script writing, camera work, lighting, and editing. Throughout the year, students work on various projects that are submitted to film festivals and contests across the country. The FAME Pathway is designed to engage students and develop skills that are critical to the 21st century workplace, such as collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. The instructor, Rick Williams, brings over 20 years of experience in multiple industries to the classroom.

The FAME Project 

The Floyd County College & Career Academy's FAME Pathway has added podcasts to its curriculum for the 2023-2024 school year. The FAME Project is a student-run podcast studio that takes place in a state-of-the-art podcast studio. Each week, students organize, research, and produce their own podcasts that are released on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube. Additionally, there are specialty podcasts that are hosted by Floyd County School staff. The podcasts are shared on the social media accounts of both Floyd County Schools and the CCA.
