VOCABULARY. This weekly SAT prep vocabulary assignment has five aspects for ENG III: definitions, function, synonyms, sentences and a paragraph using 5 words in context. Honors must, along with the fore mentioned tasks, record each word's etymology and write a paragraph using 10 words.
Reading Vocabulary is the weekly assignment based on the Prentice Hall textbook glossary.

The Independent Reading Assignment (INDP) is a review of a book that a student has selected and read during the course of the marking period above and beyond any reading assigned in class. It is worth a test grade. Report format is a ONE-page three-paragraph essay that should read like a newspaper critic’s review of the novel.
Memorial Day
Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Memorial Day 2018 occurs on Monday, May 28. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Unofficially, it marks the beginning of the summer season.
