The Collective's activities are student-led, awareness-driven and change-oriented. Several themes and concepts are central to the Collective's ideology and objectives and are frequently revisited through discussions, seminars and podcasts. They are as follows:
QUEER THEORY
Discussing critical Queer Theory with an aim to understand the various nuances within the discourse.
CRITICAL THEORY
Applying Critical Theory, which aims to critique and transform society by analysing traditional perspectives and society’s conflicts, to the queer sphere.
INTERSECTIONALITY
Emphasising the experiences of people with disabilities and people of various castes, classes, races, ethnicities, and religions, and discussing how these factors affect their queer identities.
ACTIVISM
Challenging cishet norms and structures through collective action while also raising awareness, especially within FLAME University.
SOUTH-ASIAN PERSPECTIVE
Drawing focus to non-western LGBTQ+ identities with an emphasis on the South-Asian perspective and the history of queer movement within India.
INSTITUTIONALIZED DISCRIMINATION
Discussing how homophobia and transphobia manifest at institutional levels, from state institutions to FLAME University.
QUEER POLITICS
Exploring the implications of identifying as 'queer' in a right-wing India and the rise of queer homonationalism.
QUEER MENTAL HEALTH
Understanding the implications of queerphobia on the mental health of LGBTQ+ individuals.
