The Buena Park Jazz Ensembles are small group ensembles that develops students' skills in jazz performance, including improvisation, swing, and contemporary styles. It fosters creativity and collaboration through dynamic and expressive music-making. The ensemble enriches the school’s musical culture while providing students opportunities to explore a unique and influential genre.
The Buena Park hosts two Jazz Enesmbles: Jazz I and Jazz II.
Jazz II is open to all students wishing to learn how to play jazz music.
Jazz I is a select, audition-only group of advanced musicians specializing in jazz and related styles.
The ensembles feature traditional jazz instruments, including saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and a rhythm section with piano, guitar, bass, and drums. Members perform challenging repertoire that ranges from swing and bebop to Latin and contemporary jazz.
