Second graders take on a creative challenge to design a clever disguise for a turkey. Students begin by sketching their idea and listing the materials they will need before building. This project strengthens planning, problem-solving, and imagination as they bring their disguises to life.
In connection with the EL Module “Schools Around the World,” second graders explore how learning environments differ across cultures and climates. In the makerspace, students design and build model schools inspired by what they’ve learned, thinking deeply about accessibility, sustainability, and creativity. This project helps students appreciate diversity while imagining the kind of classrooms where all learners can thrive.
