How long is the assessment?
The assessment can take up to 1 hour and 1/2 per sub-test.
What subtests are available?
Reading, Math, Reading ESL STEPS.
How many times do I have to take the CASAS?
You will take the CASAS at least four times per school year so your teacher can tailor instruction to your needs.
What if I don't know the answer to a question on the assessment?
You can skip the question.
Is it possible for me to fail the assessment?
No, this is not a pass or fail assessment. The assessment is used to determine what you already know and need to learn.
What happens if I only want to take one subtest during my appointment ?
You have the option to schedule one subtest at a time. OR
You can request one subtest at the beginning of your test appointment.
Can I study for the assessment?
Yes, you can take a practice eTest using the link above.
Is the assessment in any other language?
No, all subtests (including ESL) are in English.
What happens if I don't have computer or tablet at home?
In person testing is available. Please refer to 'Schedule a Test' for available options.
What type of devices are needed to access a remote test?
Devices accepted are: PC, MacBook, iPad, Tablet, 5 Keys or personal Chromebook
Devices not accepted: Cell phones
What happens if my internet goes out?
We will wait for you to come back to the zoom meeting for 5 minutes.
After 2 interruptions, we will reschedule a test.
If you're unable to rejoin, text/email/call us to let us know. We will reschedule the test.
When will I get my results? What happens with the results?
You can receive a copy of your results from your teacher.
Your teacher will review your results with you and set up an educational learning plan.
What happens if I get a low score on the assessment? (**Aztec program)
Your teacher can provide available educational resources to work on specific reading or math skill development.
