SAFETY TASK FORCE MEETING - 3/11/2026
Thanks to everyone who attended this week’s Fitchburg Public Schools Safety Task Force meeting. We also want to extend a special thank-you to our panel of educators, parents, and community partners for their thoughtful participation. The list of panelists can be found on slide 26 of the attachment.
Please review the attached presentation slides and a recording of the meeting in the link below. The recording was produced by the Fitchburg High School broadcasting class—many thanks to Mr. Bruno Rodriguez and his talented students, along with our partners at Fitchburg Access TV.
Much of the meeting focused on the key questions and results raised in our recent surveys of families and staff. We reviewed several slides comparing survey results across multiple years and discussed the trends we are seeing. In total, we received more than 1,400 responses from families and staff, which is an outstanding level of participation. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their feedback.
We are currently compiling a full analysis of the survey results for both families and staff, and we will share additional updates soon.

GOVERNOR HEALEY'S VISIT TO FHS
Recently, Governor Healey, Lt. Governor Driscoll, Secretary of Education Tutwiler, Commissioners Riley and Ortega, Dept. of Education Board Chair Chris Gabrieli, and others visited FHS and held a roundtable discussion with FHS students participating in the Early College program.
The meeting between the Governor’s team and our students was AMAZING. Our students shared their experiences, spoke fondly of their mentors/teachers/guidance counselors, made suggestions for improvement, and summarized this meeting with the following “one word” answers to the Governor’s contingent: intriguing, motivated, opportunity, confidence, determination, insight, persistence, support, inspired, resilience, bravery, courageous, representative, strength, privilege, honored, diverse.
