Fashing - February 2023

On Thursday, 16 February ES students celebrated Fasching by having the opportunity to dress in costumes and participate in a school-wide assembly. Our German department prepared a wild and fun assembly, honored the Oberursel Fasching Princess, and all got to dance and sing in celebration.

Visiting poet Naomi Shihab Nye - February 2023

Naomi Shihab Nye, internationally acclaimed poet and children's author, inspired our Grade 4 students to become poets themselves during her workshop sessions on 13 February. Students were engaged and enthusiastic as they wrote about the natural setting of our beautiful Oberursel campus.

Lunar New Year Celebrations - January 2023

Students in Primary and Elementary Schools celebrated Lunar New Year on Saturday, 21 January, which happened to be the Lunar New Year date this year. A Dragon Dance was performed and students enjoyed many traditional games, calligraphy and crafts. It was a wonderful experience and we thank all of those from our community who helped make this such a special event for our families.

Visiting author Andrea Wang - January 2023

The ES has been collaborating with and learning from Andrea Wang, an award-winning author of middle-grade novels that explore identity, culture, and growing up. Learn more

During her author visit, students had time to ask questions and learned interesting facts and stories about her life as a writer.

Junior Model United Nations - March 2022

More than 80 students in Grades 4 and 5 participated in the fourth session of the annual Frankfurt International School Model United Nations Conference on 16-17 March 2022. Students joined one of three committees, all with the theme of “Equity, Justice and Belonging,” one of our Strategic Impacts at FIS. The experience gave our students an opportunity to learn about global issues as well as develop innovative and thoughtful solutions and proposals. 

PYP Exhibition

The PYP Exhibition 2022 encouraged students to reflect on how their inquiry project connected to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, many of which are aligned with EJB. Learn more
