Owl Moon and

Sharing Our Stories

Chalice Ritual: Owl Moon

Watch Catherine share the story Owl Moon

Art Activity:

Provide your child with a black piece of paper and chalk or a white crayon.  Ask them to draw a picture in nature at night.

Conversations That Matter

Owl Moon is a story about an experience a child had with their father. Sharing our stories is important. It helps us understand one another. It is also a way to preserve history.

Set aside some time to share a story about your life or a family member or a family memory. Ask others to share a favorite memory or story from their life.

Consider recording the stories as they are shared.

Partcipate in the StoryCorps Project. Consider interviewing your child. Interviewing them about their experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic, or any childhood experiences, provides a meaningful first hand account of their experiences. Remember to record the interview, whatever questions you choose to ask. Then have your child consider who they would like to interview. Come up with questions to ask. Use the StoryCorps suggested questions for inspiration.

Share your interview on StoryCorps or keep it as a family treasure!
