Faith Development for Children & Youth

It is our goal to provide a safe, nurturing, and healthy environment for our adults, children, and youth.

RELIGIOUS EXPLORATION

Nursery (Newborns - 2 years old)

Infants and toddlers enjoy their Sunday mornings playing with our childcare workers in the Nursery. Our volunteers provide a warm and caring environment during worship services in the Nursery. Age appropriate toys, crafts and stories are provided.  Children gain a sense of belonging to their religious community.

Chalice Children (PreK4 -1st graders)

Prekindergarteners - 1st graders learn by playing and doing. We provide opportunities for asking questions, wondering why and how, and learning about being in community together. Using stories, play, crafts, and songs we explore Unitarian Universalist rituals, spiritual practices, and values

Seekers (1st - 4th graders)

1st - 4th graders learn about values, ethics, and Unitarian Universalism through myths, stories, creative play, spiritual practices, and social justice projects. Opportunities are provided for children to make connections between the worlds of science, wonder, and religion. They begin to understand that religion helps people find answers to important life questions and that some questions do not have answers.

Questers (5th - 8th graders)

5th - 8th graders put our Unitarian Universalist values into action.  We believe that

Questers put these beliefs into action as they learn about a variety of injustices in our world. They learn that change is possible through multiple avenues, and can happen whether the problem is local or worldwide. Through hands-on social action projects they make a difference in our community and the world in meaningful ways.
