Vote Love, Defeat Hate
Fifth Principle
Our Fifth Principle states: The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large
In children's language we say:
Our fifth promise is blue for Believe in our ideas and Act on them. The symbol is a bell. The bell reminds us that we have to try to do what’s true and right, not just talk about it. The bell is that little voice inside us that lets us know when something we do is right or wrong.
Blue: All people get a vote
During the Worship Service:
Help your child learn the importance of voting!
Take them to vote with you!
If you are voting from home, explain what you are doing and who you are voting for as you fill out your ballot.
Discuss how your Unitarian Universalists values and beliefs influence your decisions on election day.
Try this Scavenger Hunt as a family to learn about candidates. Discuss why you support a candidate based on what you discover in your scavenger hunt.
Create signs or decorate your sidewalks with messages about the importance of voting.
