ACTIVITIES AT HOME
The start of the autumn season has been celebrated by people for centuries. It’s a wonderful way to connect with the natural rhythm of the year and make our homes cosy for the new season.
Try these ideas for autumn equinox activities and crafts:
Go Outside
Go outside for a walk. Look for signs of fall
Grab a notebook or your phone. Walk around your neighborhood or in a local park and record what you see and experience. Just getting out to enjoy nature is one of the best ways to appreciate the autumnal equinox. How many signs of this new season can you find? Collect leaves, nuts, pinecones and other signs of autumn.
Rake leaves.
Build a spiral out of leaves. Walk through the spiral for a moment of peace and contemplation. Spirals are a great meditative tool and look so cool.
Go apple picking.
Plant some bulbs that will bloom in the spring.
Decorate your house for fall (mantelpiece, windows, door, etc.).
Celebrate autumn by bringing nature into your home. Set up a nature table somewhere in your home and in fill it with fall nature finds: leaves, nuts, acorns, gourds, colourful corn, flowers, sticks and seeds.
More ideas:
Use baskets and little boxes to display autumn treasures.
