As Christians, we affirm the sacred worth of every person and firmly believe we are all God’s beloved children.  We aspire to model the love, compassion, inclusivity, and mercy of Jesus Christ and celebrate that the United Methodist Church (UMC) is fully inclusive.

In 2019 First Cary UMC established the group - Inclusive Affirming Methodists (I+AM) to support our church’s LGBTQ+ members and those with family members and friends in the LGBTQ+ community at large.  Our goal is to be welcoming and affirming as we work to wholly embrace full-inclusivity within the UMC.

As a Reconciling Community (part of the Reconciling Ministries Network) within First Cary UMC, I+AM welcomes and celebrates people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions.  We invite all people to join us in our efforts to achieve greater love, understanding, mutual respect, justice, and peace as we strive to do God’s will.
