Pride of Holly Springs is scheduled for Saturday, September 26th to celebrate, uplift, and stand with our LGBTQIA+ community. Through joyful events, inclusive spaces, and educational programs, Holly Springs works to build a town where everyone especially those from historically excluded identities feels seen, safe, and valued. Holly Springs believes that true community thrives on connection, equity, and pride.
This year's Pride theme "Always Forward, Never Straight: Preserving History, Coming Home" emphasizes Durham's collective commitment to moving our justice work Forward in dignity, love, and perseverance. Of course, there's not one "normal" or "straight" way to do that, and we celebrate the authentic, expansive, and liberated ways many of us show up in Durham. And as we continue advocating for LGBTQ+ people, families, groups, and causes, there are two particular strategies we highlight for 2026.
Transgender Day of Remembrance Events
Candlelight Vigil - Friday, November 20, 2026, from 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM (gathering typically begins around 6:00 PM - 6:30 PM) at North Carolina State Capitol. A solemn gathering to honor the memory of transgender and gender-diverse individuals whose lives were lost to anti-transgender violence and bigotry over the past year.
Post-Vigil Community Reception - Friday, November 20, 2026, from 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM (immediately following the vigil) at the LGBT Center of Raleigh (119 East Hargett Street, Suite 010, Raleigh, NC 27601.
