About Us!

Inclusive+Affirming Methodists (I+AM) was originally created to facilitate and support the inclusion of our LGBTQ+ members, family and community.  Several Methodist groups initiated various movements throughout the years to counter discriminatory language and actions cited in the UMC Book of Discipline.  Reconciling Ministries Network (https://rmnetwork.org/) has roots in these movements. RMN is committed to reconciliation that leads to the healing and transformation of animosity into honest relationships that respect all God’s children. 

I+AM is our effort within First Cary to fulfill this commitment.
