All applications for individual students must be submitted to the Nova Scotia Firefighters School in advance of the course date or the course will be cancelled.
Student prerequisites
Student prerequisites
18 years of age (16 or 17 with Departmental Supervision)
Students must be an active member of a recognized Fire Department or Industrial Fire Brigade
Students must meet the requirements of NFPA 1403 – section 5.1.1 (Standard on Live Fire Training Evolutions)

- Fire hose, appliances, and streams
- Overhaul
- Water Supply
- Ventilation
- Forcible Entry
- Building Construction
Students provide their own PPE & SCBA
