Directors
DAVID COOLIDGE, Director
David Coolidge, is the Fine Arts Specialist for Findlay City Schools and Director of the Findlay First Edition show choir. Previously, David served ten years in higher education as Director of Musical Theatre at both Ohio Northern University and Anderson University, and nearly twenty-five years as a professional freelance artist: actor, writer, and director.
A proud member of Actors’ Equity Association, the professional actor’s union, David was a member of the Broadway National Tour of Parade, directed by Hal Prince, and Jeff Calhoun’s highly acclaimed pre-Broadway production of Big River at Deaf West Theatre. Additionally, he has appeared in numerous roles in regional theatres across the country including: Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, St. Louis MUNY, Huntington Theatre, Triad Stage, Napa Valley Broadway Playhouse, Abingdon Theatre Company, Stamford Theatreworks, and Musical Theatre West.
David is the former Assistant Artistic Director of TheatreworksUSA in New York City. While at TheatreworksUSA, David directed six national tours, oversaw thirty national touring productions reaching an annual audience of over three million, and was part of the development team to adapt twelve children’s books to the stage. Additionally, David directed TheatreworksUSA’s annual gala at the Rainbow Room in NYC featuring performances by cast members from the Broadway shows: Spring Awakening, Curtains, and The Ritz.
David received his BFA in Musical Theatre from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music (CCM) and his MFA in Acting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. David is a graduate of Findlay City Schools and a proud alum of FFE.
MARY BETH COOLIDGE, ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
Mary Beth Coolidge, Assistant Director of Findlay First Edition, made her operatic debut in Arezzo, Italy, singing for several summers in small opera houses all throughout Tuscany. She went on to sing with stateside regional opera companies including Greensboro Opera and Greensboro Light Opera. Her crossover career was launched at the Clinton Area Showboat Theatre where she performed as Marian Paroo in their production of the Music Man. Mary Beth has been training aspiring professional singers across genres, having served on the faculty at Radford University, Anderson University and Ohio Northern University; master classes at The Ohio State University, Butler University, Indiana State University. She holds a Masters of Music from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a Bachelors of Music from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. She is a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique and Mindfulness, and has served as the Self-Care Specialist at Anderson University.
Joe Sato, Choreographer
Joe Sato is a freelance choreographer based in Indianapolis, Indiana. He got his introduction to the world of show choir while attending Lafayette Jefferson High School, where he was a member of and dance captain for The First Edition.
Currently in his fifteenth year of working as a choreographer, Joe is continually praised for his exceptional show design, unique costuming and remarkable set creations. Joe has choreographed for high schools across the Midwest including: Brownsburg, North Central, Fishers, Lawrence North, Benton Community, Naperville North, and Lafayette Jefferson, to name a few. Additionally, he works alongside his assistant, Cecily.
Together, the pair works to make show choir programs flourish and provide timeless entertainment across the board!
Joe and Cecily are beyond thrilled to join the FFE creative team and choreograph for The First Edition. They are looking forward to continuing the rich traditions of Findlay First Edition and work with such an extraordinary community!
cecily pedregon, Choreographer
Cecily Pedregon works as a freelance choreographer alongside her fiancé, Joe Sato. She graduated with a degree in Film, Cinema and Media Studies from Indiana University in 2021. Originally from Brownsburg, Indiana, Cecily has choreographed for several show choir programs across the Midwest.
Cecily has an extensive background in competitive dance, pageantry and show choir. Throughout the past 8 years, she has choreographed across the state of Indiana at Brownsburg, North Central, Fishers, Northridge, and Lawrence North. She truly enjoys working as a clinician and judge during each competition season.
Cecily and Joe are ecstatic to be at Findlay and choreograph for FFE. They have the best time creating and working with The First Edition and love watching the magic they put on the stage!
Rob ciesluk, Boingers Director
Rob Ciesluk comes to direct The Boingers with a wide variety of musical backgrounds. Currently Rob teaches at the University of Findlay, where he is the Professor of Percussion, with a growing studio of percussion students. The fall season finds him as the marching percussion instructor for the Oiler Marching Band as well. Rob also is a music teacher at St. Michael School where he teaches general music in grades 5-8, band, and assists with the choir program. He also is a co-director for St. Michael’s Drama Clubs and middle school show choir - Una Voce. Rob has extensive percussion experience in both marching and concert percussion as a performer and instructor. Along with performing with Eastside Fury Percussion (WGI) and Southwind (DCI), Rob has been a percussion instructor for the Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps out of Milwaukee WI, the Bowling Green State University Drumline as well as many high school drumlines in the area.
Mr. Ciesluk received his bachelor's degree in music education from Eastern Michigan University and his Masters degree in percussion performance from Bowling Green State University.
Rob lives in Fostoria with his wife Monica and 3 children. He enjoys supporting his children at their various activities (Go Trojans, Defenders and Redmen!) and is blessed to be a part of The Boingers and the FFE family this year!
