Sigma Tau Delta | Xi Theta Chapter Meeting Minutes


August 21, 2018


Present: Charlotte Smith, Peyton Sibert, Abigail Frye, Tessa Jenkins, Meghan Keeley and Emily Dykes

Fall Agenda


1. Officer Meetings Schedule

a. Once a month on Tuesdays

i. September 11, location TBD

ii. October 23, location TBD

iii. November 6, location TBD


2. Service Project

a. Homecoming Week (October 1&2, time TBD but some time before 8:30pm)

i. Book Page Crafts with the Alumni Association

b. Alternative Project: Funday Sunday (October 7, 1-3pm, Mazza Museum)


3. Bookmark-Making Party (October 30, 5:30-7:30, location TBD)

a. Making and/or decorating bookmarks to go along with the bake sale fundraiser (discussed below under point 4).

i. Decorated bookmarks will be donated (to whom is still TBD)


4. Other project

a. Decoration of Library Bookcase (November 1, location TBD at October 30 officer meeting)


5. Fundraiser

a. Bake Sale (November 14 & 15, 11-2pm, locations likely in the AMU and new Business Building)

i. Backup Dates: November 19 & 20

ii. Fundraising form needs to be completed and turned in before proceeding

1. Baked goods are to be made independently and delivered to Dr. Elkie’s office by November 13

2. Additional bookmarks can be decorated at the time of the bake sale and be collected for donation


Spring Agenda


1. Officer Meeting Schedule a. TBD when classes start


2. “Shakespeare-Off” (Some time after January 14, time and location TBD)

a. Potential collaboration with the Theatre Club

i. Need their input to set time/location

b. Need questions written

c. Open to the campus d. Meeting September 25, 5:30-7pm, location TBD

i. To begin the planning process


3. Literacy Fundraiser

a. Wreath Party (any time in February-April, 6pm, location TBD)


4. Service Project

a. Funday Sunday (April 7, 1-3pm, Mazza Museum)

i. Need to come up with craft idea

ii. Costumes encouraged (Fairy Tales and Fables theme)


5. Book Dinner (February or March, time and location TBD)

a. Theme and food still TBD

b. Open to the campus

c. Costumes encouraged

a. $260 from Dues

b. $25 for graduation regalia

c. $85 Miscellaneous

d. $180 in the Literacy Drive Fund
