THE CITIZENS of the street are predominantly snotty kids who don't know their father. They are a menace to the BUSINESSMEN and OUTSIDERS. Besides kids, there are men, women and elders living in the street.
THE BUSINESSMEN are the ones exploiting the misery in the street. Some BUSINESSMEN live in the street and others visit the street from neighbouring streets to make money. They consist of craftsmen, shop owners, kingpins, loan sharks and missionaries.
THE OUTSIDERS are a combination of pray and enemies such as customers to the brothels, police, soldiers, the people from the municipality and bohemians who come to the street to feel authenticity and get drunk.
The children: The children are the primary protagonists of the storyworld. 4/5 of the citizens living in the street are children and most don't know their father. The children are all over the place, you see them and you especially hear them. And they are always snotty, and their hair is filled with lice.
The women: The only ones suffering more than the children are the women. Beaten and poor they do anything to make their living. But the women are also closely interwoven, and their camaraderie makes them a force that should not be neglected or underestimated.
The men: The men are strafers. Always drunk and constantly on the move to make money. They are chaotic and even though they are dependent of each other, they can never trust each other.
The elders: When you are born in CITIZEN STREET you don't leave until with your feet first. This happens mostly at an early age and only few elders are to be found in the street.

THE BUSINESSMEN are the ones exploiting the misery in the street. Some BUSINESSMEN live in the street and others visit the street from neighbouring streets to make money. They consist of craftsmen, shop owners, kingpins, loan sharks and missionaries.
Shop owners: In the front of the CITITZEN STREET buildings are shops. The shop owners are too rich and clever to live in CITIZEN STREET. Most of the shop owners pay the citizens of the street to protect them.
Craftsmen: In the first backyard of a back alley there is a craftsman. A blacksmith, a carpenter, a small factory. These people often function as helpers and protectors of the children.
King pins: The criminal activities in CITIZEN STREET is ill organised. But right before and during WW2 the illegal economy flourishes in the street and a fight starts between small kingpins to become the king of CITIZEN STREET.
The religious: Where there is poverty and prostitution there are souls to be bought. Extreme religious and crazy priests often enter the street to redeem themselves on do-good deeds.

THE OUTSIDERS are a combination of pray and enemies such as customers to the brothels, police, soldiers, the people from the municipality and bohemians who come to the street to feel authenticity and get drunk.
The customers: A fairly substantial part of the street’s income comes from prostitution. Second comes from alcohol. Third comes from robbing visitors passing through the street.
Police and soldiers: Unless forced police and soldiers won’t visit the street. Only if something really bad happens the police will investigate the street, like looking for murderers or organized crime. During WW2 the German soldiers are not allowed to visit the street after dark.
The people from the municipality: From 1935 and forward different persons from the municipality will show up to find arguments for demolishing the street or lure the citizens to sign eviction papers.
The bohemians: The citizens try to keep a balance towards the citizens who come to drink and romanticize the street. They are cash cows, but once in a while a kid or another citizen can’t resist to rob the young romantics.
