RESEARCH PROJECT: In "the CITIZEN STREET" research project I explore how I can use storyworld thinking, worldbuilding, game engines and other digital technologies to create a digital storyworld that can inspire artists to create works of their own across artforms and media. This is done through the actual development of a 3D storyworld called CITIZEN STREET. The storyworld is inspired by a historical slum street in Copenhagen as well as some of my favorite social realistic works of art across artforms.
USE OF THE THIS BLOG: This blog gives an overview of the project as well as the progression of the research project. On the tab "where" you can see where the project tales place, on "who" you can see the creators of the project, at the tab "when" you can see the timeline for the project, "how" shows the methodology and "why" explains the reasoning for the project.
On this starting page I am posting documents, video logs, transcripts, interviews, discussions, design diaries, correspondence and reflections as the project progresses. My aim is to expose the research in realtime. If you have suggestions for the research please drop me a note HERE.

In this blog post you can read about my struggle becomming a researcher and how my brain feels like a "monkey brain" when having to read academic writing with words I dont understand. But also about how it helps me getting more aware of how I want to let the CITIZEN STREET development and produktion and actualk artistic work lead the research.
Look HERE to learn about my research approach after reading a lot of words that I dont understand.

21/9-2023: HOW DO YOU START BUILDING A DIGITAL STORYWORLD?
Today we started building CITIZEN street in the game engine Unreal. Four young 3D CG (computer graphic) talents have taken up the challenge and are contributing with their time, skills and special super powers. We are allready having some interesting focus points on how we have to create 3D diferently when doing a storyworld than ususally when building for a game or a film. Read more about our reflections HERE.

18/9 2023: WHAT IS THE POTENTIAL OF A DIGITAL STORYWORLD IN FILM, THEATER AND TELEVISION?
The first week actually working on CITIZEN STREET storyworld starts with testing big digital screens. As the storyworld will be produced in 3D in the Unreal Engine it can be used for back projection. But the BIG SCREENS might also be an inspirational tool for actually developing the storyworld CITIZEN STREET?
