About the Project

The American Enterprise project is a project that focuses on recognizing FBLA chapters that develop projects within the school and/or community that increase the understanding of and support for the American enterprise system by developing an informational/educational program.

So far, we've completed and hosted two workshops that involve teaching and educating our local elderly about technology. We've partnered with the Partnership with Business team and the Milton activity center to make this happen. Our team has put several hours into creating slideshows and worksheets to improve the understanding of technology for over 20 visitors who attended our workshop. We specifically focused on teaching scams, and had two members from the Department of Licensing join us and the director for the Treasurer of the state speak at our workshops.

Recently, we've begun a new chapter to our project teaching 4th grade students at Fife Elementary School about budgeting. We recently visited them and used a simulation-like shopping experience to push the kids to focus on budgeting and being smart when in the presence of money. Students were given fake money and had the opportunity to buy any of the provided cookie-decorating materials to decorate cookies! This taught them to be wise and careful when spending their possessions. In the end, it was a rewarding experience for everyone. We plan on doing this again!
