Summer School Programs

Summer School is available for two sessions at both the Summer School Credit Retrieval at CJH and the Pierce County Skills Center programs. Students can only take one course each session for .5 credit. If a student takes both sessions, they can earn 1.0 credits. You may enroll for one session at CJH and one session at the Pierce County Skills Center or you may choose to take both sessions at the same location. No cost to attend either program.

Summer School Credit Retrieval at CJH

Students currently in grades 9-12 can take classes at Columbia Junior High School for credit retrieval. Classes will only be available for students who need to retake a credit they have previously failed. If you have questions, talk to your school counselors (current FHS students can look at their Credit Check Form). Classes will be taught in-person at Columbia Junior High School. Limited availability.

Session Dates:

  • Session 1: June 27-July 14 (No School July 4)

  • Session 2: July 18-August 4

Classes meet in-person at Columbia Junior High School
Monday-Thursday
8-11:30 a.m.
Students work asynchronously on Fridays.

Bus transportation available. Transportation may or may not be available for registrations received after June 10.

Free to-go lunches available daily.


REGISTRATIONS AFTER JUNE 10

WALK-UP REGISTRATION ONLY

Registrations after June 10, will be processed on the 1st day of each summer school session. Please come to Columbia Junior High School and go directly to the registration table. Transportation may or may not be available for registrations received after June 10.

Pierce County Skills Center

Students currently in grades 8-12 are able to take classes for credit retrieval or initial credit through the Pierce County Skills Center. Click here to apply starting on MAY 2 at 5 PM. IMPORTANT: Enrollment is accepted first applications received, first enrolled.

Session Dates:

    • Session 1: June 27-July 15 (No School July 4)

    • Session 2: July 18-August 4

Classes meet in-person at the Pierce County Skills Center
Monday-Friday
7:45 a.m.-2:45 p.m. (30 minute lunch).

Bus transportation available to the Pierce County Skills Center Campus, Bethel High School & Spanaway Lake High School. Transportation NOT available to Steilacoom High School.
