Sword | Shensi Provence, Hsi-an, China | Date: Han Period (202 B.C-220 A.D.)| Bronze Pictorial-Sword | Locality: Singanfu | Dimensions (in cm.): Width- 4.1 cm. Length- 44.8 cm. Height- 0.8 cm. | Description: Two-edged bronze sword with engraving of the figure of a tiger on the one, and an ornamental charcter on the other side; decorated with stripes in black laquer, presumably to denote tiger-stripes. Flat bronze handle with two holes. [See Chinese coin exhibit, Field Museum, Hall 24.]

Bronze rattle | Singanfu, China | Han Period (202 B.C-220 A.D.)| Description: Bronze handle for a walking - stick relief of a dragon-head which holds the socket in its jaws. It is surmounted by a knob in open work cast where figure of birds are brought out. | Dimensions (in cm.): Width- 4 cm. Length- 16.4 cm. Height- 1.8 cm. | Collection: Mrs. T.B.
