Fall Staff Art Gathering
Fall Chalk Pastel Project
With this project you will be using black construction paper, a drawing pencil, and chalk pastels. Brainstorm by yourself or with a partner for subject matter to create in your art. These ideas might involve fall related objects such as pumpkins, gourds, leaves, trees, hay bales, or bushels of apples. Draw your ideas nice and large so you will have room to blend your chalk pastels. In the example, pumpkins were the main subject and were drawn with a fall landscape behind them.
Fall Faux Batik
When creating your fall faux batik, think about what you would like your subject matter to be. You might focus on an array of fall leaves, pumpkins and gourds, or perhaps a pail of mums. Draw your subject on the cardstock using the drawing pencils provided. Once drawn, use the blackboard chalk to outline the drawing and then add color using the oil pastels. To create the batik effect, apply India ink all over the paper and then gently rinse in the sink. Use the faux batik resource step sheet to complete the necessary steps.
