Clay Snail

Kindergartners work to improve their dexterity every time they visit the art room! This clay project helps students learn how to control hand pressure, roll a coil, create a spiral, and attach clay pieces. Each student makes their own clay snail during our Reading Around the World for March is Reading Month.

Kindergartners study Australia in their classroom and bring their knowledge to the art room. In art, we use this knowledge to expand upon and use our creative abilities to create artwork based on animals living in or techniques used in Australia. These snails are based on the Garden Snail which is the most common species of snail in Australia.
