Art and teaching are my passion, which I am so grateful to be able to share with your student(s). In addition to teaching, I am a working studio artist with a focus of creating surface designed utilitarian pottery and have recently started working on large scale bee portraits.
I attended Central Michigan University and received a Bachelor's of Applied Arts in 3D Art and a Bachelor's of Science in Education for Visual Arts. After graduating from CMU, I began my teaching career in the greater Detroit area; I taught at a K-5 before school program in Rochester Community Schools and 6-8th grade art in Southfield Public Schools. After spending a few years in Detroit, I moved to West Michigan and began teaching in Forest Hills. Although I have moved around the district several times since starting here, I'm happy to call Orchard View my home.
In my classroom, it is my mission to help every student achieve their very best no matter what skill level they come in with. As we celebrate our successes with every project, each class will be challenged with different art mediums, new techniques, and cultural art concepts. I hope to expand your student's interests and skills with a new appreciation of art.
