Road To Civil Rights

For this project we were assigned a book to read with a book club and after we had finished reading the book we worked with our group members to formulate a design for our exhibit. We decided to build a spaceship because the building of Apollo 11 was a big part of our book and in our exhibit we filled it with challenges and successes that took place in the 1940's through the 1980's. We brought in artifacts to tell the story of our book and provided text and pictures for the people viewing our exhibit to observe. After we completed the building of our exhibit we worked together to build a script that we would then present. The point of this project was to inform an audience more about the Civil Rights movement and what life was like for African-Americans in the United States during that time period.
